Project objectives

  • Raise awareness of mobile payment solutions: Grow consumer knowledge of the fastest growing Fin Tech sectors
  • Drive brand awareness and revenue: Boost brand recognition and direct sales, upselling customers to the Wi-Fi and sim card devices
  • Enhance partnership with Ryman: Drive foot traffic to Ryman through positioning pop-up’s close to key stores.

Our solution

  • Pop-up shops: Agreed strategically located pop-up shops within high footfall shopping centres in Watford, Manchester, Newcastle, Derby & Dudley for a minimum period of 3 months
  • Dedicated project manager: We allocated an experienced project manager to execute & manage every site 360, including all contractual agreements with the shopping centres
  • Design, build & install: We utilised our in-house expert resource for the construction of customised units to manage the quality
  • Build a sales team: Undertook a detailed selection process, followed by intensive training & launch event, to ensure everyone was aligned with the project’s objectives.

KPI's and outcomes

  • All five locations exceeded their KPI within the first month, consequently targets were increased. Our teams hit a total of 1,085 direct sales (10.4 units per location/week), plus an est. additional 4,500 indirect ‘halo’ sales
  • Very successful, 40% of all units sold were higher end devices
  • Created positive local partnerships with managers, leading to mutually beneficial increased sell-out
  • Communicating our outstanding sales success, in real-time, allowed us to ensure SumUp were able to analyse the ROI throughout the project and therefore extend in the most successful sites.
